Sodium DiChromate is bright orange colored odorless compound which is most commonly utilized as a corrosion inhibitor and in formulation of various other chemicals. It has chemical formula Cr2Na2O7 with molar mass of 261.965 g/mol. This compound has strong hygroscopic property with good water solubility. It also finds application in varied industrial processing including screen printing, photographic engraving, electroplating, pyrotechnics, and explosives. For having good oxidizing property, Sodium DiChromate is also utilized in organic synthesis. It shows excellent resistance to termite & fungi attack which makes it ideal to be used as a wood preservative.
