Soapstone Powder is obtained by pulverizing a metamorphic rock which comprises mineral talc having high amount of magnesium. It is widely utilized in manufacturing of bowls, sinks, countertops, and sculptures. This powder is known to have chemical formula Mg3Si4O10(OH)2 and also contains small amounts of tin or aluminum in place of silica. It is extremely soft to touch and is also utilized as high temperature lubricating agent in various industrial applications. Soapstone Powder has high talc content and shows hardness level of 1 on Mohs scale. It also serves as insulating agent for electrical components and housing.
