It is industrially produced by electrolytic chloralkali process and finds application as a strong base in various industries. This compound has molecular formula NaOH with molar mass of 39.9971 g/mol and high boiling point of 1,388 degrees Celsius. It shows good solubility in water & glycerol with insolubility in ether. Caustic Soda Pearl is extensively used in pulp & paper industry during bleaching and pulping processes. It also finds application in detergent & soap and natural gas industries.
