Caustic Potash is an inorganic compound which finds application for a number of industrial processes. It is a key ingredient in formulation of biodiesel & soaps and an electrolyte in alkaline batteries. Also known as potassium hydroxide, this compound has chemical formula KOH with molar mass of 56.11 g/mol and high boiling point of 1,327 degrees Celsius. It is soluble in water, alcohol, & glycerol and shows insolubility in ether & liquid ammonia. Caustic Potash is also used as pH stabilizer & thickening agent in food industry and as a precursor to various potassium based compounds. For manicure treatments, it is a main chemical which is required for removing cuticles.
