Boric acid

Boric Acid is most commonly used in manufacturing of textile fiberglass, for reducing surface oxidation & firescale from precious metals during annealing & soldering, and in production of LCD displays. It is known to have molecular formula BH3O3 and molar mass of 61.83 g/mol with density of 1.435 g/cm3. This acid can be industrially produced with reaction of borax with hydrochloric acid. It appears as white colored crystalline solid having high boiling point of around 300 degrees Celsius. Boric Acid shows solubility in boiling water above 170 degrees centigrade. It also possesses antibacterial properties, which makes it suitable to be used as antiseptic on minor cuts & burns.
